Google Trends API

Retrieve topic search-trend series through the same prepaid account used for social posts. Every integration should preserve the returned metric, unit, region and dates instead of treating every series as an absolute search count.

Search volume and interest are different

Read metric and unit on each series. estimated_search_volume with estimated_searches means calibrated estimated volume. normalized_interest with index_0_100 means relative interest, not a count of searches. Preserve fallback_reason and source caveats when a calibrated estimate is unavailable.

Handle asynchronous results

Call GET /api/public/search-volume with a URL-encoded term of up to 200 characters and X-API-Key. Read data.status even when HTTP status is 200. success includes series in data.data with searchVolume points. If processing, wait about 60 seconds before retrying with a finite deadline. A failed result is not a zero search-volume observation.

Understand credit charges

A new completed result costs 10 credits; cached results cost zero. Processing, failed and empty results are free. This endpoint has its own short-lived cache: the social-post Idempotency-Key contract does not apply. TickerTrends provides this service independently of Google.

Request a search-trend series

Example requests require your own API key. Running a request can consume prepaid credits within the stated budget.

curl --get 'https://social.tickertrends.io/api/public/search-volume' \
  -H "X-API-Key: $TICKERTRENDS_API_KEY" \
  --data-urlencode 'term=openai'
# Inspect data.status, then each series metric, unit and returned dates.
